A pickup truck carrying a load of hay that caught fire shortly after 5:00 Tuesday afternoon is being blamed for a brush fire adjacent to US 395 at Red Rock Blvd.  The fire grew to be about 5 acres, crews got a line around the fire in about 20 minutes. Two dozen home were threatened but none had to be evacuated. No injuries were reported.  Northbound 395 was briefly closed during the attack on the fire; southbound lanes remained open.  The cause of the truck fire that started the brush fire is under investigation.
