The Reno City council unanimously approved a $216,000 contract to demolish the “Heart O’ Town” and “Golden West.”  The preservationists want to save them, activists for the poor say we need low income housing, and council members say they understand, but not in the heart of the city’s business district. Some objected to the city paying for the demolition. But Mayor Hillary Schieve stood her ground.
