A procession brought the bodies of two firefighters to Reno via Interstate 80 from Winnemucca, to the Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office Monday. They are 27 year old Jacob Omalle, and 22 year old Will Hawkins, They were killed in a crash on Highway 140 north of Winnemucca that also sent a third firefighter to a Reno hospital Sunday. According to the Bureau of Land Management, it was a single-vehicle crash, the NHP says they now suspect the crash was caused by tire failure. The firefighters who have passed, and the one who was injured, all worked for the BLM.
