Reno has been named the fastest growing solar hot spot in the U.S. That’s the take of “Buildfax” a national data source for property conditions. The website used building permit information from a database of over 23 billion data points of construction records, looked at the largest 100 US cities by population, and compared the percentage change between 2014 and 2015 of residential solar project counts to make the list. Three other Nevada cities made the top 10: North Las Vegas at #2, Henderson at #3, and Las Vegas at #7. But the website pointed to recent rate rates as a negative impact, saying applications after the decision fell 99%.
