Northern Nevada McDonald’s Restaurants, including the ones in Lake Tahoe, are hosting a fundraiser for the family of Jake O’ Malley, a wildland firefighter who died while working for the Bureau of Land Management in Winnemucca. O’Malley and two other colleagues were patrolling for fires when his engine crashed, killing him and co-worker Will Hawkins. This Thursday you can help O’Malley’s family with funeral costs by stopping by a McDonald’s restaurant from  5-7 pm, have something to eat and donate while you’re there. Some of the McDonald’s that are participating include 1150 Kietzke Lane, 3308 S. McCarran Blvd, and 440 Keystone Avenue.
