A public memorial service will be held for two Bureau of Land Management firefighters killed in a crash on Highway 140 north of Winnemucca, July 10. The service will take place at the Winnemucca Events Complex Exhibit Hall from 1:00 to 3:00PM. 27 year old Jacob O’Malley, of Zephyr Cove, was the driver of the BLM fire truck.  22 year old Will Hawkins of Reno was a passenger. Another passenger, 23 year old Zachery McElroy of Reno, was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center via Care Flight, and has since been released.
