Seven out-of-state men were arrested on felony fraud and other charges, after Carson City officers uncovered a scam, in which the suspects go door-to-door asking for donations they say will be used to assemble care packages for U.S. soldiers. Officers began investigating after calls from Carson City residents who said they were asked for money, and the pitch that was being used didn’t appear to be legitimate. All seven suspects face criminal charges of felony suspicion of fraud, gross misdemeanor conspiracy to commit a crime and misdemeanor soliciting without a permit.
