Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt has filed a new suit, he says will protect Nevadan’s from federal sage grouse land-use restrictions. Laxalt claims the BLM blatantly disregarded Nevada experts and stakeholders, and failed to consider impacts. Laxalt says he remains dedicated to protecting the interests of Nevada. Last October Laxalt joined a suit on behalf of the State of Nevada challenging the federal government’s land-use plan. In Nevada alone, mineral exploration and development is barred on nearly three million acres. Additionally, he suggests the plan may result in significant restrictions on livestock grazing, solar and wind projects and public access.
