Fire Burning in Eastern Nevada

Crews are fighting a wildfire that has quickly grown to more than 4.5 square miles, after a lightning strike in northeast Nevada rangeland. BLM spokesman Chris Hanefeld says the fire that sent smoke over Elko, and is burning less than a mile from the historic Pony Express trail, but isn’t threatening structures. More than 50 firefighters are battling the fire.
