The Director of the Department of Employment and Training says several “imposter” claims have been filed through the state’s unemployment agency, using personal identifiable information of Nevada employees. There has not been a breach detected within the program or within any other state system. But Don Soderberg says claims are being filed for unemployment benefits on behalf of state employees who are not aware of the claims, and are not unemployed. They’re working with US Department of Labor in the investigation. Because this is an ongoing fraud investigation, specific details can’t be released.
