A group of Reno Police officers were honored at Wednesday’s City Council Meeting, by Chief Jason Soto. The award stems from a “Shots fired incident” on Grove Street in November 2015.  Officers Ty Trail and Andrew Hickman heard screams and gunfire, and rushed to the scene, where a man had terrorized a group of residents, several people were wounded. The suspect ignored their orders and raised the weapon again.  That’s when the officers were forced to shoot the suspect, to avoid further injuries.

The Chief’s Certificate of Commendation was also awarded to Sergeant Sean Garlock, Officer Eric Hague, Officer Kyle Meseberg, Officer Jared Woodward, Officer Brandon Carney, Officer Jeremie Pordon, Officer Rob Garlock Officer Ryan Koger, and Officer Norm Brady, who secured the scene and saved residents from a burning home, connected to the same incident.
