Guard Shooting Victims Remembered

200 Nevada National Guard members participated in a run to mark the fifth anniversary of a shooting that killed four people at a Carson City IHOP restaurant, including three guard members. Gov. Brian Sandoval joined soldiers Tuesday morning. The Las Vegas-based 17th Sustainment Brigade held a similar memorial run in Kuwait. Those killed in the September 6th, 2011 attack included Lt. Col. Heath Kelly, Master Sgt. Christian Riege and Sgt. 1st Class Miranda McElhiney. South Lake Tahoe resident Florence Donovan-Gunderson also died. The 33-year-old gunman shot himself.
