Fernley Intermediate School teacher Arvella Jergensen has been recognized nationally by the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching for “her outstanding contribution to the teaching and learning of mathematics and science. Lyon County Superintendent Wayne Workman calls Mrs Jergensen an amazing example of the incredible staff in the Lyon County School District. He adds, her Award is well deserved and we look forward to hearing about her experience in our nation’s capital,” says Lyon County Superintendent Wayne Workman. The award includes a citation from the President and $10,000 from the National Science Foundation.
