It’s National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, and the Nevada Trucking Association is celebrating by honoring the professionals who deliver the goods every day.  The Nevada Trucking Association will mark the celebration by delivering gifts to members and drivers traveling through Nevada at the Annual Truck Driver Appreciation Day at the Truckee Scales at the Nevada-California Border. The trucking industry in Nevada provides over 50,000 jobs. There are over 3,000 trucking companies headquartered in Nevada, most of them small, locally owned businesses. These companies are served by a wide range of supporting businesses both large and small, moving 94 percent of total manufactured tonnage. More than 80 percent of Nevada communities depend exclusively on trucks to move their goods. There are 16,290 professional truck drivers in the state of Nevada.
