Senator Harry Reid  points to hacking incidents that forced a shutdown of the voter registration system in Illinois, that lasted a week. Arizona was also reportedly targeted.  Reid says he believes Russian intelligence agents are trying to manipulate the system, by targeting  voter registration records in several states. Kyle Thomas, director of voting and registration systems for the Illinois State Board of Elections called the hacker intrusions in his state “A highly sophisticated attack most likely from a foreign  entity.”  Reid previously encouraged the FBI to investigate, and says he has been briefed on the probe. Reid added, no one should ever forget that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is an ex-KGB leader. He says the KGB may have changed their name, but they’re still everywhere they always were.
