Solar Rate Agreement Subject To PUC Approval

NV Energy customers who applied for rooftop solar before December 31st, 2015 when the utility implemented a higher rate, would be allowed to keep their prior rate under a deal submitted to the Nevada  Public Utilities Commission. The PUC could consider the proposal as early as this Friday. (Sept 16) The Commission had applied higher rates to all solar customers, including those who invested in rooftop solar,  years before the decision. The deal is a settlement between SolarCity, NV Energy and the state’s consumer advocate. The Las Vegas Sun reports, according to terms of the deal, qualified customers would be grandfathered in under the old rate structure for 20 years.
