Rapid Response from terrestrial and airborne fire crews working a fire near the northeast shore of Spooner Lake kept it to slightly more than half an acre.  A water-dropping helicopter and a fixed-wing aircraft dispensing retardants were quickly dispatched after the fire was reported, shortly after 4 Tuesday afternoon.  The cause of the fire is not yet known. No injuries were reported and no structures were ever in danger. Crews remained on scene overnight to make sure it did not re-ignite.
