The North Valleys Library is looking for help as it gets ready for upgrades, after being open for 40 years. The branch serves communities on the east side of Peavine Mountain. Library officials say the planned expansion is estimated to cost more than $30,000. The upgrades are geared toward improved service delivery, and include adding a “STEAM” area to increase opportunities for students to learn Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. They’ll also expand the children’s collection, an area focused on early literacy, and a new business center to help job seekers and students. The project is expected to begin next month. North Valleys Library will need to temporarily suspend service for the upgrade.
