The Reno Police Department has identified three people charged in a Columbus Day incident involving a man who drove his truck through protesters blocking traffic under the Reno Arch. 18-year-old Nicholas Mahaffey has been charged with a misdemeanor count of provoking an assault. According to police, Mahaffey attended the protest earlier and drove past the demonstrators while shouting expletives. Two protesters have also been charged with simple battery: 21-year-old Samuel Harry, and 24-year-old James Fletcher. Reno Police Chief Jason Soto said at a press conference that the video shows Harry and Fletcher attacking the people inside the truck after it stopped in front of the group.
