The National Parks Service is asking for the public’s help in finding a Southern California man missing on a backpacking trip in Kings Canyon National Park south of Bishop, Calif. 74 year old Robert “Bob” Woodie went backpacking on Thursday, Oct. 13, and was supposed to return from his trip by Sunday. He was reported missing on Tuesday. An electronic check-in message via satellite indicates he was at at Barrett Lakes, southeast of Dusy Basin, on Saturday evening. Woodie is as an experienced hiker who is familiar with the area. He is white with brown hair and brown eyes, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and 150 pounds.
