A national transportation research group known as “TRIP,” is out with it’s report on Nevada roads. They say Nevada’s deficient roads cost motorists 3.2 billion dollars in additional operating costs. They say between congestion delays and crashes, it costs the average Reno-Tahoe area driver nearly 12 hundred dollars a year. Rocky Moretti of TRIP says without some investment this will get a lot worse for drivers, especially since Nevada’s population is expected to grow even faster than the rate between 2000 and 2015. The state population grew 45% in that time period, to 2.9 million residents.
