Lyon County schools will soon be equipped with cameras in every classroom. The school board voted to install cameras at all 17 Lyon County District schools by the end of the year, with a goal of improving safety and security. Through something called the SAFE System, teachers will equipped with necklaces with a microphone and several buttons. The microphone will amplify the teacher’s voice. The buttons on the necklace can trigger silent alarms in an emergency, and turn on the camera. The system will cost about 2.5 million.
