Congressman Mark Amodei has cruised to an easy re-election win over challenger Chip Evans. No democrat has ever won election in Nevada’s 2nd congressional district and Amodei easily kept that streak alive. Evans had never run for elective office, and tied his hopes to a democratic wave, that didn’t materialize nationally. Amodei gets credit from voters for strong constituent service, and for supporting and passing bills that are Nevada specific, including lands bills that would open up federal land for development by local cities.
