Sun Valley “Strangler” Gets Life in Prison

A Sun Valley man has been sentenced to life in prison for the kidnapping of one victim, and the kidnapping and sexual assault of another.  20-year-old David Calderon-Morales was sentenced for one count of First-Degree Kidnapping and one count of Sexual Assault after pleading guilty. Both sentences were ordered to run consecutively, ensuring Calderon-Morales will serve a minimum of 15 years in prison before being eligible for parole. One of the victims was a prostitute who was strangled to unconsciousness, who later ran from her attacker at a convenience store, the other was a woman walking in downtown Reno who was forced into a car at gunpoint, and sexually assaulted and strangled, then pushed out of the car in a remote area last April.
