Nevada Apologizes After Beating UNLV

The University of Nevada is apologizing for the football team, after beating UNLV Saturday and reclaiming the “Fremont Cannon.” Apparently some players dragged the cannon out onto the field, and painted “F-UNLV” on the trophy. The letter sent by athletics director Doug Knuth says the behavior is being addressed, and called the action apparently “Premeditated,” and called the players actions “Inexcusable.” The day after the game, football coach Brian Polian was sacked.
