A Carson City man has been given consecutive sentences after pleading guilty to sexual assault and robbery. 27-year-old Nathan Oakie was sentenced yesterday to life with the possibility of parole for sexual assault of a minor, and 60 to 180 months for robbery. Sheriff Ken Furlong says the robbery happened at a 7-Eleven store on North Carson Street in May. Oakie walked into the store, showed a gun to the clerk and filled a bag with bottles of alcohol before running off. Oakie was already a suspect in the sexual assault of a six-year-old. Oakie, apparently cut his wrist with a knife at some point before climbing into the patrol car, and had injuries significant enough to require surgery. He will be eligible for parole after serving 35 years.
