A fatal explosion at Squaw Valley has taken the life of a veteran ski patroller. 42 year old Joe Zuiches from Olympic Valley was deploying charges for avalanche mitigation on Gold Coast Ridge around 8:30am yesterday morning when he was killed.  The incident remains under investigation.
