Attorney General Wants Increased Supervision For Sex Offenders

Sex offenders are on notice, Attorney General Adam Laxalt will be offering a bill that would expand conditions imposed upon sex offenders subject to lifetime supervision. It would allow the Division of Parole and Probation to require sex offenders to submit to search and seizure, without a warrant, to determine whether the sex offender has violated conditions of their supervision. It would also require sex offenders to only accept employment, including volunteer positions, that have been approved by a parole and probation officer. It would require them to obey any curfews imposed by the parole and probation officer; require completion of professional counseling; and submit to periodic controlled substance tests.
