A Fernley man has been sentenced to at least 56 months in prison, after leading deputies on a chase, then tried to ram them with his car. 39-year-old Jeremy Random was sentenced for “Eluding,” Assault on a Police Officer with a Deadly Weapon, and Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says Random led deputies on a high-speed chase in Fernley, and drove the wrong way on I-80, traveling westbound in the eastbound lane with his lights off. Deputies rammed his vehicle to try to stop him, but he continued to the Pilot truck stop in Fernley, where deputies stopped him by again ramming his vehicle with a patrol car. Once stopped, Random ignored the commands of deputies and grabbed a rifle, then started his vehicle again and tried to ram the deputies. Deputies fired at Random, who was hit in a hand.
