A proposed subdivision in south Reno has been unanimously approved by the Washoe County Planning Commission. The 56-house subdivision would be built on Geiger Grade Road near Shadow Hills Drive. Developers still have to meet the terms of the approval before construction can begin. The subdivision has faced plenty of criticism as residents in the area have raised concerns that it would have negative impacts on traffic, schools, wildlife and safety. The decision does not give developers a set timeline on when they can begin construction.
