Dr. Robert Rand, the pain specialist at the center of a local “Pill Mill” case, will stay in jail. Federal Judge Miranda Du, denied the release request, she still believes Rand is a flight risk. Rand faces three felonies in connection with the case. Richard West the Second and seven other people have been charged with illegally distributing prescription pain pills. The Nevada Board of Medical Examiners has also filed a malpractice complaint against Rand.
