State May Have Missed Out on Solar Jobs

Nevada was one of only six states in the country to lose jobs in the solar industry last year, as the industry grew nationally by 25 percent, according to the seventh annual National “Solar Jobs Census,” from The Solar Foundation. Although Nevada added jobs in the large-scale solar sector, changes in rules for residential rooftop solar customers damaged that industry, costing the state more than 2,500 rooftop solar installation jobs. The Nevada Legislature will consider legislation that could return the rooftop solar industry to Nevada, and further grow the state’s clean energy industry.
