The Nevada Department of Agriculture rounded up 16 wild horses Monday in east Carson City. The band was seen in the area for around three weeks before they were gathered, and the NDA plans to vaccinate them with “PZP,” a fertility control drug made from pig hormones, then relocate them to an area south of Highway 50 near Stagecoach. The NDA says the horses were a traffic and safety hazard because they were in and out of the roadway, and neighborhoods. The horse band was moved to the Carson City Correctional Facility for the vaccinations, and will released back into the wild in the next couple of weeks.
