The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Flood Watch and High Wind Warning for the greater Reno area in effect now through Friday. Residents in flood-prone areas should be on high alert. The highest risk of flooding is in urban areas and along creeks, streams and poor drainage areas. A High Wind Warning is in effect until midnight tonight. Strong winds are expected to intensify on the ridges and foothills this morning with down slope winds developing later in the day. Strong winds will continue through the evening.
