Legal Marijuana Could be Available by July

Commercial pot shops could be open in Nevada as early as July 1st. Regulators at the state Department of Taxation have been working on rules and deadlines to regulate and tax recreational marijuana, since voters approved legalization last November. Executive Director Deonne Contine told state legislators she expects to draft regulations to be ready for release in March. The department would start accepting applications for temporary licenses to sell recreational pot in May. Temporary licenses will be open only to medical marijuana shops in good standing.
