Regarding President Donald Trump’s Joint Session Address to Congress, Republican U.S. Senator Dean Heller said, the address laid out a bold agenda for Trump’s Administration. He said, he shares the President’s desire to ensure America’s best days are ahead and that, Nevadans deserve a nation that is safe, secure, and promotes the values our nation has come to symbolize. Heller says that’s why he plans to push for infrastructure projects like Interstate 11 and to ensure Nevada’s veterans receive the care they deserve. Senator Heller says he’s looking for willing partners on both sides of the aisle to achieve the best for our state and promises to remain — quote: “Nevada’s strongest voice and always advocate on its behalf in Washington.”
Of President Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress Tuesday night, Democratic U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto: “Tonight’s address was business as usual for President Trump: grandiose verbiage and broad proposals and promises completely lacking in substance or direction.”
She went on to say, “Trump failed to offer any real plans on how he hopes to move this country forward. He talked about helping working families, a phrase that has lost all meaning in just 40 days of the Trump Administration.”
She also said, “At no point in his address did President Trump mention commonsense actions that would help American families, like raising the minimum wage, paying women equal to men for equal work, ensuring millions of Americans keep access to affordable healthcare, and keeping hardworking immigrant families together.”
