The Nevada Department of Transportation’s erosion repairs on eastbound Interstate 80 east of Sparks have been temporarily postponed to allow access for enhanced regional flood mitigation response, including to Lemmon Valley. Based on weather in future weeks, NDOT will reschedule and continue the work to remove and haul away eroded dirt, debris and weeds to clear and keep roadsides drainages functioning on I-80 east of Sparks. The work will help reduce potential future snow and rainwaters from flooding interstate lanes, and reestablish emergency shoulder parking. NDOT will use six haul trucks and loaders to remove the sediment and complete the work as quickly as possible.
