Assembly Joins Senate Approval of ERA

Both houses of the Nevada Legislature have approved the Equal Rights Amendment. The Assembly passed it today, the bill still has to go back to the Senate after a technical amendment was added. The Resolution does not require the Governor to sign it, but Brian Sandoval has indicated he favored the bills passage. The ERA missed it’s original deadline to become part of the US Constitution, back in the 1970’s and ’80’s. Republican Jill Tolles supported the bill, even as a symbolic gesture, she says, for her daughters.
