Expect Detours on U.S. 50 East of Fallon

The Nevada Department of Transportation says a traffic detour will be in place on U.S. 50 east of Fallon beginning as early as 10 this morning, as NDOT installs additional drainage culverts to help protect against flood damage during local flood mitigation efforts. Construction will go on for about one week. During that time, U.S. 50 traffic will be detoured just east of Fallon, as crews reinforce the road in preparation of floodwaters being diverted from Lahontan Reservoir. U.S. 50 will be closed between Wildes Road and Macari Lane. Drivers will be able to detour to Pasture Road via Wildes Road and Macari Lane and return to U.S. 50 with less than 15 minutes of anticipated extra travel time, according to NDOT. Drivers are asked to use caution and give extra travel time on Macari Lane for utility relocation work.
