Storey County, Commissioner Lance Gilman says he is recusing himself from voting on any appointment of an interim sheriff if the “For Recall” side wins the election on April 11th.  Gilman says while there is no conflict of interest present which precludes him from participating in the appointment process, he hopes recusal will provide reassurance to the public that any appointment of an interim Sheriff will be done by the County administration and Board of Commissioners using arms-length vetting and appointment procedures,  “Without favor or prejudice to any purported private interest.”  Sheriff Gerald Antinoro says he has been targeted by “Powerful special interests,” and it’s no secret he’s talking about Lance Gilman.
