Fire crews around Lake Tahoe just had two new engines delivered from the east coast. North Tahoe Fire and Meeks Bay Fire both now have brand new KME Type 1 engines. Squaw Valley Fire also got one a few weeks ago. The one in Meek’s Bay was purchased with some help from the Meeks Bay Firefighters Association, who donated $150,000 for the engine. The new engines are really needed along the lake because some the old ones still in use now are over 30 years old.
