Alcohol Servers In Nevada May Have To Complete Training

(KOH) – Senator Julia Ratti of Sparks, along with Las Vegas Democrat Mark Manendo have introduced legislation that would make all bouncers, bartenders and wait staff in Nevada take a training course to better identify the condition of their patrons. Current law does not apply to counties with fewer than 100,000 residents, effectively meaning no alcohol-service training is required. Bar staff in Clark and Washoe have been required to take a course every four years in recognizing drunken patrons and when to stop serving them. The new law would bring Nevada’s 14 other counties, plus Carson City in line with Clark and Washoe counties. No action was taken on Senate Bill 440.
