A building that first opened at the University of Nevada Campus in 1920 as the “Teacher’s Training College,” is re-opening April 13. The Thompson Building has undergone extensive seismic retrofitting and rehabilitation over the past year. UNR President Marc Johnson says the re-opening is a demonstration of their committment to the historical nature of the campus, which has 13 buildings on the National register of Historic Places. The re-opening is set for 3pm.
