Nevada Attorney General Urges Passage of Sex Offender Bill

Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt is urging the Legislature to pass Assembly Bill 59. It imposes additional conditions on sex offenders. He says AB 59 is intended to help keep communities safe by restoring the authority of the State Board of Parole Commissioners and the Division of Parole and Probation to impose and enforce conditions on sex offenders under lifetime supervision. The deadline for passing bills out of committee is Friday. If passed into law, AB 59 would restore law enforcement’s ability to monitor serious sex offenders who have already been convicted.
