Senate Bill Would Crack Down on Sex Trafficking Facilitators

A bill that would crack down on anyone involved in sex trafficking, including drivers, is being debated at the state Capital. Senator Pat Spearman is behind SB 488. It would penalize someone who serves as the the driver who knowingly takes people to illegal prostitution rings. Victim advocates and airline providers support the measure. Opponents are concerned that the law is too broad and that subjecting facilitators, like drivers, to 20 years in prison, is too much.
