Three bookmobiles that service the Silver State may be forced to end their routes if President Trump’s plan to eliminate $230 million from the Institute of Museum and Library Services goes through. The bookmobiles visit remote locations like elementary schools in Panaca, Pioche, and Client, delivering books to children who don’t have access to a local library. Those in rural counties say the Bookmobile is a lifeline to their areas, and something that shouldn’t be cut from the budget. More than 22,000 books were checked out at Bookmobiles across Nevada in just 2016.
