Nevada Woman Accused of Bizarre Scam, Claimed Child Was Sick or Dead

A Carson City woman is accused of pretending her child was fatally ill, to raise funds. Victoria Morrison is accused of collecting money under false pretenses, using a “Go Fund Me” account online. Carson City deputies quickly learned the child was not only alive, but quite well. The child is in the hands of the Nevada Division of Child and Family Services. Morrison was booked into jail. Sheriff kenny Furlong says the extent to which  Morrison went to convince others of her son’s death has investigators critically looking into who all knew that the scam was taking place, and what end possibilities could have been anticipated.  Current estimates of donations received is still being calculated, but immediate estimates have suggested at least $2,000.
