The American Red Cross is assisting a family, after an attic fire in Spanish Springs Sunday morning, left their home uninhabitable. The Sparks Fire Department responded to the fire in the 5100 block of Canyon Run Drive at about 9:30 a.m. Several people were evacuated along with four dogs and two cats. Twenty firefighters and five fire engines were brought in to fight the blaze and by 10:30 a.m. one truck was left to do mop up. Part of a ceiling came down on a firefighter during the operation… but no one has been reported injured. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
