First Lady Kathleen Sandoval is encouraging all Nevadans to join her in participating in Denim Day Wednesday April 26th. Governor Brian Sandoval has declared the month of April Sexual Assault Awareness Month in Nevada. The First Lady says “Demin Day is a silent tribute to the survivors of sexual assault and a peaceful protest to raise awareness of this ongoing threat.” Denim Day stems from a 1999 incident in Italy in which a court blamed a young woman who was sexually assaulted, because she was wearing tight jeans when she was raped.
