The Reno City Council will consider a six month moratorium on the licensing of recreational marijuana, as proposed by Code Enforcement Manager Alex Woodley. Apparently they want more time to figure out how to zone pot shops, and what fees they’ll be able to collect from them. If approved, this would slow down operation of businesses that want to cultivate and sell the plant, as approved by voters last November. The state of Nevada is shooting for a possible start of recreational sales July 1st. The council considers the moratorium April 26th.
